Made from porcelain, which shares the light-reflecting qualities of real tooth enamel, veneers deliver a result that’s both stunning and natural-looking.

Veneers are usually seen as a cosmetic luxury, so they’re not typically available on the NHS.

Looking after your veneer is as easy as caring for your natural teeth. Brush twice daily, floss after meals, and be careful with hard or sticky foods that might chip your teeth. While veneers are stain-resistant, it’s wise to limit teeth-staining foods and drinks like red wine, tea, and coffee. Regular dental and hygienist visits are important too, and if you smoke, it’s a good idea to quit to keep your veneer in top condition.

With the right care, veneers can last around 10 years. A solid oral hygiene routine can help extend their lifespan even further.

Getting a veneer usually involves a couple of visits:

1. First, we check if you’re a good fit for veneers. If you have crowded teeth, active gum disease, or are a habitual teeth grinder, veneers might not be ideal. Any necessary fillings are done before veneer preparation.
2. We then prepare the tooth by removing a bit of enamel, ensuring the veneer fits just right.
3. An impression is taken for your temporary veneer while your permanent one is being crafted. This trial period with the temporary veneer is your chance to decide on any changes in shade or shape.
4. Once your permanent veneer is ready, we bond it to your tooth, making any final tweaks as needed.

For your temporary veneer, remember to:

• Avoid sticky or tough foods.
• Be gentle when brushing and flossing.
• Steer clear of teeth-staining food and drink.
